There have been a lot of great games hitting the Android platform over the last month, too many to name them all really, so instead of trying to take on that task we rounded up the top ten games that made their way to the Play Store over the last 30 days or so. Some of these you may already be familiar with and some may have flown completely under the radar, but either way if you're looking for some new mobile games to play this weekend, take a look at the list and see if you stumble on anything magical.
Fat Baby Galaxy
This game is a trip. It's an action platformer generally with a sidescrolling nature throughout much of the game but certain parts will have you in a third person view from behind the character as you speed through a wormhole on a surfboard dodging enemies and shooting them with lasers. This is a truly great game that deserves more attention.
Free Fur All – We Bare Bears
Because only from Cartoon Network could such a game like Free Fur All – We Bare Bears be a reality. This is a good bit of lighthearted fun and is a mixed collective of mini games you can either play by yourself or with friends in multiplayer modes. If you enjoy the type of humor Cartoon Network games usually bring to the table, this is a game for you.
Framed is a puzzle title set up like a comic book in which you have to rearrange the panels (or frames) in the correct order to advance to the next set of frames. It has a sort of noir like feel to it and presents you with some interesting and rather funny results even when you get the frames wrong, making it worth it to purposely rearrange things incorrectly to see all the possibilities. This is made especially wonderful because of the animation of the frames when you interact with them.
Cute Things Dying Violently
This is a puzzle title but with a significantly more sinister feel to it. The goal here is to kill off all of the cute and cuddly critters in any number of ways, but it won't always be as easy as it sounds. There are 48 single player levels included and a level editor so you can make your own.
Avoid. is an arcade game with rather simple mechanics and gameplay style, but it can be lots of fun trying to avoid the blades. Your goal is to last as you long as you can before the blades get you, and lasting longer earns you more coins which you can use to unlock new characters to play.
The Deer God
This is an adventure game all about living and surviving as a deer. You'll encounter enemies and bosses occasionally and at times you'll get to use some rather interesting but still super cool abilities like shooting flames from your antlers. The game features quests you can complete as well as loot items to find and collect, and a day and night system to make things feel more immersive.
Blitzcrank's Poro Roundup
If you love arcade games, and League of Legends, this game is for you. The main star is Blitzcrank, one of LoL's fabled champions, and your goal is to save all the poro creatures while trying to run away from the giant Baron Nashor monster chasing you. Towards the end of each stage you'll encounter boss fights which are other champions, and they even feature some of their special moves from the original game. You can unlock other playable characters as well as ability boosts too.
Pok©mon Shuffle is a puzzle game. Stage by stage you'll encounter other Pok©mon that you'll have to battle and attempt to capture afterwards, and to beat them you cast attacks by matching up the different Pok©mon in your collection. There is a little bit of a light story, but the gameplay is mostly about the puzzle/match 3 battles and such. If you're a Pok©mon or match 3 fan, this is good fun.
Star Wars: Uprising
More than just an action rpg, Star Wars: Uprising is also a story bridge between the events of Star Wars Episode VI and the upcoming events of Star Wars Episode VII. You end up playing as rebel alliance fighting against the empire, and as you take and complete quests you can level up your character, find and equip gear which you can also upgrade, and learn new abilities like a force push. You can customize your characters too which makes things a little more personable.
Lara Croft GO
Lara Croft GO is another puzzle title, featuring the main character from the Tomb Raider series. There are tons of puzzles to solve to advance to the next stage, collectible artifacts to find, enemies to avoid and a giant snake looking monster who seems to be following you through your exploration. Plus, pretty graphics.
