As had been announced, today was the way in which Sony would be unveiling their latest Xperia line smartphones and that's exactly what they have now done. In among the Sony event, Sony has announced the three new Xperia Z5 variants. These are the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5 Premium. While most of the specs remain consistent across the Z5 range, the most notable differences are in the displays, with the Xperia Z5 Compact sporting a smaller 4.6-inch display (compared to the 5.2-inch display on the Xperia Z5) and the Z5 Premium comes boasting a phablet sized 5.5-inch display. That said, the size of the display on the Premium model is not the only upgrade, as Sony has also confirmed that the Z5 Premium display comes with a 4K resolution, making it the first smartphone to land with such a massive resolution coming in at 3840 x 2160.
Well as would be expected (and consistent with other manufacturer launches) Sony has wasted no time in starting their promotion campaign and as a result, a bunch of videos are already making their way online and detailing a number of the features on offer with the latest Xperia range of devices.
In total there are four videos already available. The first video focuses on the camera abilities of the Z5 range. As they all come with the same 23-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera, this video applies to all three Z5 varaints. The second video also focuses on the Xperia Z5 range as a whole and showcases various design elements and the colors which the devices will be available in. While the third video once again focuses on the camera's ability, this time, it seems to be geared towards the Xperia Z5 Compact specifically, and highlighting the portability of the device coupled with the camera features on offer. Last up, the fourth video is aimed solely at the Xperia Z5 premium and highlights the whopping 4K display on offer and what you can expect from such a high resolution.
