Camera-Centric Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 Is Now Official

Alcatel OneTouch is definitely not one of the most prominent smartphone OEMs out there, but the company has been rather consistent lately. The company's Idol 3 devices are really solid offerings, both the 4.7 and 5.5-inch variants of this phone. The company has teased the arrival of their OneTouch Flash 2 smartphone at the end of last month, announcing that it will arrive on September 22nd... and that's exactly what happened today. The company has announced this smartphone, and also revealed where will it be available at first, read on.

The Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 is a camera-centric smartphone, as its name suggests. This is a mid-range smartphone which features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720, 294 ppi) display along with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of native storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). The device is powered by MediaTek's MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.3GHz along with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel 80-degree wide-angle camera (Samsung's S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens with blue glass optical filter, PDAF) is available on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter (OV5648 1/4'' sensor, f/2.2 aperture) can be found up front. The dual-LED, dual tone flash is available on the back of this phone, and a soft LED flash can be found up front. The 3,000mAh battery is also available here, and this is a dual-SIM smartphone. The Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 offers 4G LTE (FDD-LTE nad TDD-LTE both supported) connectivity as well, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this phone.

As far as the design goes, this is a rather interesting looking handset. It might not have the thinnest bezels around, but its design is interesting. There are three capacitive buttons below the display, and the middle one is also the biggest one. The phone offers a dedicated shutter button, and all of its physical buttons are placed on the right-hand side of this device. Its rear-facing camera seems to protrude a little, and the phone seems slightly curved on the top and bottom. That being said, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 will be available in Mica White and Volcanic Grey color options. The device will be available in Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia starting from this month through Lazada, an online retailer. The phone will also be available in India through Flipkart soon, and we still don't know how much will it cost just yet, stay tuned.
