Touchjet Wave Turns Your TV Into A Touchscreen Android Tablet

Android TV is a platform which is growing and more units are becoming available. That said, it still in its infancy and there are a number of issues with the platform, like for instance, the number of compatible apps that work on an Android TV enabled devices. Not all of your phone or tablet's apps will work and this does limit the appeal of the platform overall. Well, if you are one of those who thinks the app availability is too limiting, then you might want to check out a new Indiegogo campaign that has started today.

The listing is for Touchjet Wave and what it aims to do, is essentially turn any TV into a massive touchscreen Android tablet. Including TVs that are not touchscreen. If you are wondering how the company plans on doing this, well, the unit itself, is a small sort of clip on Android adapter which attaches to the top of the TV. Once in place and setup, the adapter is able to track finger movements and screen taps using is infrared sensors. From these, the small adapter offers the ability to engage and make use of any Android app on your big screen TV. In fact, due to the infrared technology, users are also able to make use of certain gestures that the device can interpret like swiping and so on. Likewise, the device can be controlled by your smartphone when you are not in reach of your TV and also includes support for stylus control.

The system itself, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Touchjet UI on top and also comes pre-loaded with a number of the more popular apps like Netflix and Hulu. In terms of the specs, the Touchjet Wave comes equipped with 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and powered by a quad-core processor which clocks at 2.0 GHz. One of the best features of the system, is its seemingly easy-to-use nature. You simply connect the Touchjet Wave by snapping it on to the top of your TV, plug in via the HDMI socket and you are good to go. For those interested, the Indiegogo campaign is live now and the price of the unit for the first 48 hours of the campaign $99.99.
