The leaks regarding Samsung's upcoming phablet flagships are gaining momentum as we get closer to the supposed launch day. The latest leak regarding the Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes from the most unlikely of sources. According to reports, Samsung's French site had seemingly put up a pre-order page for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ early on Tuesday, which hinted that pre-orders for the device might start on August 21st. While the page has since been pulled down and replaced with an "Unpacked Live" page, Dutch site GalaxyClub, which reports on all things Samsung, was able to grab a screenshot of the page when it was live on Samsung's website. While the image itself doesn't make the device look drastically different from the S6 Edge, the phablet version is shown with a Level Bluetooth headset from Samsung, seemingly, as part of a bundle.
The now defunct page on Samsung's French website which has given rise to speculations regarding retail availability of the S6 Edge+, also suggested that the pre-order period would stretch from August 21st to September 3rd, leading GalaxyClub to believe that the smartphone will actually be available at stores in Europe September 4th onwards. As for the device getting mentioned on Samsung's own website, curious as it may be, it's not the first time this has happened though. Just a few days back, in a major faux pas, Samsung Philippines had listed the Galaxy S6+ on its website and the device was also mentioned front and center in a pdf file which could be downloaded freely from Samsung's global domain.
Coming to the rumored hardware specs for the Galaxy S6 Edge+, the device is said to feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). That will give the smartphone a pixel density of 515 dpi. The handset will reportedly be powered by the Exynos 7420 SoC, which is designed and manufactured in-house by Samsung, and can already be found on the company's current flagships - the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge. The S6 Edge+ is believed to become Samsung's first ever device with 4GB of RAM, along with its phablet cousin, the Galaxy S5 Note, which is also rumored to be announced at the same event in NYC on August 13th. The smartphone will have an option of either 32 or 64 GB of storage. The imaging needs will apparently be taken care of by a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie-cam. The battery will come with a rating of 3,000 mAh and the device will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
