ASUS Teases IFA With ZenFone & ZenWatch On Show Sep 2nd

Now that the manic of Samsung's Unpacked 2015 has come and gone, business in the Android and smartphone world can return to normal. For this time of year, this typically means speculating on what will come from the next major trade show that is due to take place over the first week of September, IFA. This event always brings with it some interesting revelations and announcements and this year is looking to be no different. In fact, in spite of Samsung already just hosting their Unpacked event, speculation is still strong that they will be unveiling their next smartwatch, the Samsung Gear A (aka Orbis) at the event. It also seems likely that the next generation Moto 360 from Motorola might be in attendance too.

Well, another key manufacturer who will have a lot of eyes on them will be ASUS. The company has had a good year so far and released one of the best devices for the money, in the form of the ASUS ZenFone 2. Not forgetting they also launched their latest take on the smartwatch with the ASUS ZenWatch 2 back in May. Therefore many will be interested to know what ASUS have planned for IFA and the market in general going forward.

Well, it seems this morning the company has decided to tease their IFA attendance a little. To be clear, they have now confirmed that their press conference will take place on September 2nd at 1pm CEST. However, where the tease comes in, is that the company has released a short video on their Facebook page which shows off a number of the devices that will be on show at the event. It does seem that a new smartphone will be one of them, although the reference in the video to a phone is very minimal and seems to just highlight a volume rocker. More revealingly, there are a couple of glimpses of what is clearly a smartwatch. As such, it does seem likely that the ZenWatch 2 will be in attendance at IFA and possibly with a release date for the U.S. Therefore, IFA, in terms of ASUS, looks to be bringing a ZenFone and the ZenWatch 2.
