For some time now, we've been hearing about the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. While the former appears to be simply a larger version of the device they released earlier this year, the Galaxy Note 5 looks set to be a reimagining of the Galaxy Note brand so many have come to know and love. Even before Samsung confirmed that they're holding an event on August 13th, we had heard rumors that Samsung is to release these two devices much earlier than normal and it now looks more likely to be the case. We know a lot about these upcoming devices, including what could be on the inside, but it looks like AnTuTu has jumped the gun and confirmed some specs for us.
On their blog in Chinese, AnTuTu revealed some key specs of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5. Those interested in the larger Edge phone will get a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, giving it a pixel density of 534 ppi as well as an Exynos 7420 and 4GB of RAM. Starting at 32GB of storage, the same 16-megapixel camera appears to be coming along for the ride. As for the Galaxy Note 5, a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display is rumored here as well as the same Exynos 7420 and 4GB of RAM. There's a chance however, that the 7420 used here could be clocked a little higher to make up the numbers, but we'll have to wait and see on that front. The Galaxy Note 5 is also pegged to be running a 16-megapixel camera, and both are running Android 5.1.1.
According to AnTuTu, these devices were the SM-G928F for the Galaxy S6 Edge+, which was tested in Portugal and the SM-N9200. AnTuTu have listed scores for both devices that seem to be similar to that of the Galaxy S6, which is to be expected considering that they're running the same CPU under-the-hood. The inclusion of 4GB of RAM in the Galaxy S6 Edge+ could make people think twice about the Galaxy Note 5 however, as it brings the two devices closer together in terms of features and not only size. It would appear that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is to replace the Galaxy Note Edge from last year, and to carry on the success of their new device.
