Amazon India Slices Yureka Plus Price By 10% For 3 Days

The Yu Yureka Plus has recently been dropped in price to Rs. 9,999 ($157) but from today, Monday 10 August, until Wednesday, 13 August, Amazon India is running a sale and has dropped the price from Rs. 9,999 ($157) to Rs. 8,999, the equivalent of $142. This makes the Yureka Plus one of the least expensive devices with a 1080p, or FHD (Full High Definition) displays. In the case of the Yureka Plus, this particular display is 5.5-inch in size to give a screen density or sharpness of 401ppi (pixels per inch). In other respects, the Yureka Plus' specifications are very much ticking the "solid mid range" boxes and the smartphone is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 System-on-Chip. This is an eight core, big.LITTLE, 64-bit processor featuring a quad core, lower performance but higher efficiency application processor combined with a more powerful, but less efficient, quad core application processor. The 615 uses the ARM Cortex A53 application cores, which run considerably cooler than the more powerful Cortex-A57s found in the Snapdragon 808 and 810 models. The System-on-ChipĀ is backed up by the Adreno 405 GPU and 2 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking performance. The device comes with 16 GB of internal storage plus a MicroSD card to add up to another 32 GB of storage.

As far as photography goes, the Yu Yureka Plus has a 5MP front facing camera for selfies and video calling, which is combined with a 13MP rear camera using the Sony IMX214 sensor, which is found in a number of modern smartphones including the Google Nexus 6, latest Motorola Moto G and the OnePlus One. There's a 2,500 mAh rechargeable battery under the skin and the device runs Cyanogen 12, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, out of the box. For networking technologies, the Yureka Plus comes with 4G LTE plus the expected 2G and 3G radios to back this up. There's high performance WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and onboard USB OTG (On-The-Go, a means of easily adding accessories such as memory cards to the device).

As I've already written, this sale drops Rs. 1,000 ($16) from the price, which is a respectable saving on what is already a competitive price. If you were already thinking about picking the device up, today through to Wednesday looks like a great opportunity to save yourself even more cash than before!

I grew up with 8-bit computers and moved into PDAs in my professional life, using a number of devices from early Windows CE clamshells and later. Today, my main devices are a Nexus 5X, a Sony Xperia Z Tablet and a coffee cup.
