Alcatel OneTouch becomes Official Partner of 2nd MLS Team

Back in late June, Alcatel OneTouch became a partner with the TorontoFC, being the first and only smartphone partner of an MLS team. We traveled to Toronto to celebrate the occasion with the team, as it was also the launch of the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 5.5 in Canada. Now this might sound a bit like what ZTE is doing with a few of the NBA teams, but there's a different aspect here. Alcatel OneTouch has all kinds of amazing interaction with the fans at games of TorontoFC. This past weekend, they became partners of a second MLS Team, that is the LA Galaxy.

"The opportunity to partner with the LA Galaxy - our home MLS club - with such a legendary history, is very exciting as we continue to strengthen and grow our brand here in North America," said Steve Cistulli, Senior Vice President & General Manager of North America for ALCATEL ONETOUCH. "By continuing our MLS investment, we're not only able to tap into one of the youngest and most socially engaged audiences in North American professional sports, but are also able to work with the LA Galaxy to directly engage with our local community."

According to Alcatel OneTouch's press release, fans attending LA Galaxy home matches will be able to experience Alcatel OneTouch's products hands-on. This includes the chance of winning special prize packages thanks to in-game and social media promotions. Alcatel OneTouch has also pledged to be a partner with LA Galaxy's community engagement programs. These include activities in the LA and Orange County areas. With this multi-year deal, Alcatel OneTouch will have promotional and experience rights to one LA Galaxy player beginning in 2016. More details on that next year.

Alcatel OneTouch also recently made the Idol 3 4.7 available, which is the smaller brother to the Idol 3 5.5 that we all loved so very much. We actually just got our review unit in today, and will be taking a look at it very shortly. The Idol 3 4.7 comes in at a $179 price tag with the Idol 3 5.5 coming at a $249 price tag. Not a bad price for either model. You can pick up either one from Amazon right now.
