Vivo Announce X5Pro Available For Sale In India

Vivo Electronics have launched a new smartphone in India, the X5Pro, the latest in the line of X-series smartphones and like it predecessor devices, has a focus on high quality (Hi-Fi) audio output thanks to the custom Cirrus Logic DAC (digital audio converter) AK4375 chip. In addition to this high quality audio component, the smartphone is based around the octa core, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, which consists of four low powered ARM Cortex-A53 processor cores clocked at up to 1.0 GHz paired up with another quad core cluster of Cortex-A53 cores, but these may be clocked at up to 1.5 GHz. The Snapdragon 615 is backed up by 2 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking and sits under a 5.2-inch, 1080p resolution Super AMOLED panel, which boasts Corning Gorilla Glass. Around the back, there's a phase-detection, auto-focus enabled 13MP rear camera complete with a LED flash and on the front, there's an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling. The X5Pro is a dual SIM device and supports Indian 4G LTE bands TDD B40 (at 2,300 MHz) and FDD B3 (at 1,800 MHz), and is powered by a rechargeable 2,450 mAh battery. The chassis of the device is beautifully particularly thin at 6.44mm, too, which is something of a Vivo hallmark. There's 16 GB of internal storage plus a MicroSD card slot that can take cards of up to 128 GB capacity.

From the specifications, the X5Pro is something of a mid-range device. The smartphone runs Funtouch OS, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Although the X5Pro has been announced for sale in India today, the Chinese smartphone is only available for pre-order from midnight tonight for Rs. 27,980 (approximately $440, or £280) and will be available across India from the 15 August. Vivo state that customers pre-ordering the device before the 31 July stand a chance to win exciting gifts and one lucky winner, per day, has the chance to win the X5Pro.

Vivo India's Chief Executive Officer, Alex Feng, said this on the matter: "Today we are here to celebrate our flagship innovation for the Indian market. We are confident that this model will not only delight the Smartphone fans, but will also set the benchmark for next-generation design, manufacture and Hi-Fi music performance in the industry. Along with it, comes our extreme commitment to quality service pan India."
