UBIK UNO: New Unlocked Android Phone via Kickstarter

We always love when a new Android smartphone comes out - especially one with great specifications and a low price.  It makes it more interesting when the new smartphone will be from a new company working its way through Kickstarter in order to launch the device.  That is exactly what we have here today for you - the new UBIK is introducing a new affordable, yet flagship smartphone named, the UBIK UNO.  Edgardo Jovet, USA Business Director for UBIK Mobile says, "With the introduction of our first phone, we wanted to offer consumers a mobile phone with flagship features such as the fastest processor, high-res camera and bezel-less design at an affordable price.  Moving forward however, our mission is to assign every function a price and let our community choose what they like and utilize their input to build our next model."

UBIK already has working models, but needs the money from Kickstarter to fund production, with devices expecting to ship by October 2015.  The UNO will retail for only $345 exclusively through their website to keep costs down by not using an intermediary...and no, they specifically said there would be no invitation system.  UBIK claims that future devices would be ordered, online, with the customer picking what features they wanted in their new device like an ala carte buffet, with each option assigned a certain price - select your options, add your parts up and your custom smartphone would be priced accordingly.

Another exciting aspect is that the UBIK UNO will be running stock Android just like a Nexus device, offering up the chance to upgrade when a new OS comes out - no waiting for months while the manufacturing and carriers tweak with a custom UI on it.  Unlocked, the UNO will work with every carrier in the US and Canada and many other countries.  It is sporting a no-bezel, 5.5-inch IPS FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.  It is running the top-of-the-line MediaTek MTKMT6795 64-bit octa-core processor that can run all ten cores at once with its HMP technology.  It is clocked at 2.2GHz for blazing speed and comes packing 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with a MicroSD card slot to add an additional 64GB of storage.

The main camera is a 20MP Sony sensor with six-lens, autofocus, LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.  For selfies and video chatting, there is a huge 8MP front-facing camera (FFC).  The UNO comes with a large 3100mAh battery with Fast Charging Technology that will charge the battery in half the time.  It also features support for Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0.  Retail after Kickstarter will be $345, but the first 250 backers will get the device for a $280 contribution, the next 1,000 backers will cost $299 and then $320 for the remainder of the campaign.
