Samsung Germany Launches The Galaxy J5 On Orange

Samsung's Galaxy J5 has already launched in at least one market: India, with the announcement of the device in their home country of South Korea and a statement about it coming soon to the region. Today, Samsung has launched the Galaxy J5 in Europe as well, with Orange being the carrier of the device. So far the phone has only launched in Germany at this point in time and there is no detail as of yet who will be the next country or carrier to pick it up in the European market. For those in Germany looking to grab an affordable mid-ranger with decent hardware, the Galaxy J5 may be a suitable solution.

The phone comes with a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display carrying a 720 x 1280 resolution. For those who are unaware, the Galaxy J5 takes a keen focus to providing users with better selfie shots as it features an LED flash on the front to accompany the 5MP front-facing camera. As for the main photos, users will have access to the 13MP rear-facing camera with auto-focus, an f/1.9 aperture for better low light shots and an LED flash is present on the back as well. The Galaxy J5 will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with no specific details on whether or not on if or when it'll get bumped up to Android 5.1.1, and it's powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, as well as expandable storage via the microSD card slot up to 128GB.

When it comes to battery life for the Galaxy J5, the battery capacity is set at 2600mAh so it's not the largest battery of any Samsung device, but it should be more than sufficient for the quad-core CPU and lower resolution display. It'll support GSM networks 850/900/1800/1900, as well as 3G networks 850/900/1900/2100 and 4G LTE networks 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600. It also supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and GPS. While Orange will be carrying the device, it appears they only offer the phone in a Gold color, at least for now, and anyone interested in grabbing it will be able to pick it up for â‚¬ 234.99, which converts roughly to about $261 USD.
