OnePlus is set to announce the OnePlus 2 on July 27th (it'll technically be the 28th in some parts of the world, like India and China), and before the launch, the company has announced that they have opened 9 new customer service centers in India. These service centers mean that those in India with the OnePlus One (and the upcoming OnePlus 2 when that's available) will be able to send their phone into one of these service centers to be fixed, should anything happen to them. OnePlus has opened service centers in Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai (Andheri and Lamington), New Delhi and Kolkata. You can check out OnePlus' blog post in the source links below for the exact address of these service centers.
The company has also partnered up with Regenersis. They are a global provider for diagnosis and repair services for many consumer electronic brands in the industry. They have strategically placed repair centers and facilities around India, and will be providing technical repair. These repairs include micro components, parts management and logistic services for OnePlus users. Of course, this is just for India.
This is a big investment, not only for India, but for OnePlus. Seeing as it's just ahead of their OnePlus 2 announcement, and the company is looking to continue expanding in India. As is so many other companies in Asia. This is going to make it easier for users to get their OnePlus 2 smartphones fixed in case something happens, although we're all crossing our fingers hoping nothing does happen.
This is also an investment in customer support for OnePlus. They haven't already had the best customer support, but that appears to be changing pretty quickly. Recently, the company announced that if your smartphone is being worked on for 15 days or more, they will extend your warranty for an additional 3 months. That may not sound like a lot, but when your phone breaks in that extended 3 months timeframe, you are going to love this idea.
It's clear that customer support was one of the disadvantages OnePlus had over many of their competitors, and it appears that they are working hard to fix that. So they can get more customers and keep them. Which is the hardest part of a business, keeping your customers.
