There are a lot of smartphone makers around the world that adopt the Android operating system as its open source nature allows them not only to be able to use it but also to modify it any way they want, providing consumers more options so that they end up choosing the one they like the most. Mstar is the mobile brand used by LIHUA group, a Hong Kong based supplier of mobile products around the globe. It is rather unknown as it was introduced just a couple of months ago, but it has released some smartphones and the company is committed to offering innovative products. These lesser known brands usually need to introduce products with the latest and greatest specs and good hardware choices to stand out, and rumor has it that this company might be ready to release a smartphone that could really help them to get some recognition.
The rumored smartphone is known as Mstar S700 Pro, a name that would suggest that it will be built upon their released Mstar S700 with upgraded internals. The screen will measure the same 5.5 inches but its resolution will be increased to QHD resolutions and it will feature reduced side bezels that measure just 1.3 mm, plus it will be covered with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The metallic frame surrounding the phone will be made of a Zinc alloy to improve its durability. The main camera will feature the newest Sony Exmor RS sensor IMX230 with its 21 megapixels and the 192 autofocus points while the front-facing camera will use an OmniVision sensor with a resolution of 11 megapixels. The internal storage is 32 GB and it has a Micro SD card slot to add storage. It is said to run Android 5.1 out of the box and the alleged picture depicts some differences in the back compared to the S700, but the fingerprint scanner can be seen there too.
All of these specs sound quite good but not that relevant, but in terms of processor, it is supposed to feature the newest Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 3 GHz with 4 GB of RAM and the Adreno 530 GPU. Also, its charging port will feature the new Type-C connector and its battery will have a rather large capacity at 3,500 mAh. All of these will be included in a 6.1 mm thick body that could be released as soon as next October for a price around $480. None of this has been confirmed by the company, but it would certainly be an interesting device.
