Google Drops Prices On Chromebooks For Back To School

Google's new "Google Store" online retail store front is a great place to find all things Google, from Nexus smartphones and tablets to the Chromecast, accessories, and of course Chromebooks. With school coming back up around two months from now, we're going to start seeing early versions of back to school sales to get kids and older students ready for the upcoming school year, this includes all kinds of things, even laptops. In fact, Google has gotten the jump on the situation by starting to drop prices on some Chromebook models via the Google Store, letting students and parents buying for students save a little cash on a new laptop for class.

If you don't already own a Chromebook, they're great for things like use in the classroom as most of them if not all of them are extremely portable and pretty lightweight, making them ideal for not only toting around in backpacks or bags, but easy to set up without taking up much space should you need it. Google has taken the chance to offer students up to $30 off "select Chromebooks" which means you won't be able to save on every single model, but any money saved is money that can potentially put back towards other things, like books for class perhaps, which could easily be purchased through Google Books so you could access them through your Chromebook. Or you know, you could put it towards lunch money, whatever suits you best.

Savings also start at $10, so not all Chromebooks that are on sale will slash off the $30. Included in the sale are three different Chromebooks it looks like, which are the Acer Chromebook 11 which you save $10 on, the Acer Chromebook 13 which you save $20 on, and finally the Acer Chromebook 15 which you'll save the $30 on, so if you had your heart set on the new HP Chromebook with the Tegra K1 CPU, you won't find it in the sale. The good news on that though is you can still find it on Amazon. Google has also slashed prices on a number of other products in the Google Store as well which may not be new price drops but they could be good purchases for back to school.
