Google have been really branching out of late with a number of products that are seemingly proving popular. Of course, most recently was the Nexus Player which brought Android TV to its users in a limited but proof-of-concept device. That said, one of the most popular Google products of late has been their small streaming device, the Chromecast. Since the little dongle became available, it has proved to be extremely successful over the last year or two and constantly sells in the bucket loads. Not to mention, the device is being touted to be followed up sometime this year, with the next generation Chromecast. At least, that is the rumor.
Well, to add to the Chromecast's functionality, it now seems that Google have released an ethernet adaptor for the device. The adapter is specially labeled as an "Ethernet adapter For Chromecast" and allows for the dongle to be directly attached to your router. Not to mention, the adapter comes with a mains power supply that effectively powers everything that is going on underneath. Besides the included connector for the dongle, the only additional feature on the adapter is the inclusion of the Ethernet socket which will be what connects directly to your router.
As such, for those who worry or experience some playback issues or spotty connections with their Chromecast, this might be the perfect option to offer a more fluid level of playback and connectivity. The adapter is available now from the Google Store (source link below) and is priced at $15. This might seem a lot compared to the price of the overall Chromecast, which is crazy cheap for what it does. However, for those that need a more secure connection, this could prove ideal and certainly would be worth paying the extra few bucks for. Not to mention, the price as quoted does include free shipping, so this is all you will be paying. Of course, if you have yet to purchase and try out a Chromecast then this won't be much good to you. Either way, those interested in knowing more or ordering one can do so by hitting the source link below.
