All New OnePlus Ones Now Shipping With Screen Protector

Recently, OnePlus has been dominating the headlines thanks to the upcoming launch of their next flagship device, the OnePlus 2. The constant stream of news from the OnePlus camp has largely come thanks to the company's decision to embark on a "piece by piece" approach to releasing specs. As such, every couple of days a new spec announcement comes out detailing what else is included or to be offered with the OnePlus 2. The latest only came through this morning when OnePlus confirmed the inclusion of 4GB RAM on the OnePlus 2.

As such, the news about the previous (although, technically still current) flagship device, the OnePlus One has started to dry up. In fact, chances are the stock levels of the device have also been coming to a bit of a standstill as everyone waits to see what the OnePlus 2 will offer and at what exact price-point it will become available for. Well, in terms of the OnePlus One, it does seem there is some news for those thinking about picking up the device. Carl Pei announced on Twitter last night, that OnePlus One's are now shipping with a screen protector pre-installed on the device. During the brief twitter comment, Pei also made a point of noting that these are not pre-owned or reconditioned devices.

This last point will be very familiar to those who follow OnePlus news and is a reference to the news that emerged back in November of last year when owners of newly purchased One's were claiming that they were being sold pre-owned devices. This was largely thanks to the inclusion of a thin film on the front of the device. The notion of OnePlus selling refurbished units became big enough for OnePlus to investigate the issue and release a formal response to what was happening. As such, the latest news might seem like old news to some OnePlus owners but either way and to avoid any confusion regarding newly received OnePlus Ones, Pei had made the announcement. After all, the company probably does not want a repeat of the criticisms at the moment and especially in the run-up to the launch of the OnePlus 2.
