ZTE Nubia Z9S To Be Unveiled Alongside The Meizu MX5

Chinese smartphone manufacturers are everyday working harder to deliver top quality devices. Currently, two of China's major OEMs are getting ready to launch new flagship devices in just a few weeks. Huawei was the first to made its plans to unveil the anticipated Huawei Honor 7 on June 30 public. A date shared with Meizu, who is also planning to unveil a new smartphone, the Meizu MX5. Today, a new rumor surfacing in China, confirms that not only two, but three manufacturers are inherently getting close to launching new smartphones. The company that will join Huawei and Meizu on June 30, is ZTE, with their latest iteration of its Nubia lineup, the ZTE Nubia Z9S. This new device by ZTE will be an improved version of the popular bezel-less ZTE Nubia Z9, which was released in May of the same year.

According to Chinese reports, ZTE hasn't made any major changes to the ZTE Nubia Z9S, apart from added support for Cat 9 LTE networks. This is not a bad thing at all, as the original ZTE Nubia Z9 was one of the most powerful smartphones ever released. The ZTE Nubia Z9, had the Snapdragon 810 chipset onboard, which is one of the most advanced mobile chips out today; and this is the main reason that ZTE has looked to include the Snapdragon with the upcoming ZTE Nubia Z9S. Although it is unclear whether the support for Cat 9 LTE networks is limited by the software found in the original Nubia Z9 or if the chip's radio does not allow the device to connect to the Cat 9 LTE network. The main difference between the Cat 4 and Cat 9 LTE networks is virtually huge, as the Cat 4 only supports download speeds up to 150Mbps, whereas the Cat 9 LTE network allows for a max speed of 330Mbps.

The new rumor also includes an alleged leaked photo of the ZTE Nubia Z9S mobile data speed being tested. The image showcased the download speed of the ZTE Nubia Z9S to be 245Mbps, although this speed could vary depending on your carrier's own transfer rates. There is still a lot of mystery attached to the ZTE Nubia Z9S, like for instance, the question on whether there will be any other major differences from the original ZTE Nubia Z9 or not.
