Sprint's 'Direct 2 You' Rolls Out To Four New Cities

Sprint Corporation has announced the launch of its smartphone delivery and personalization service, Direct 2 You, for residents of New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA and Denver, CO. The company in April, had initially rolled out the service to its customers in Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL and Miami, FL and now, with the current batch of four cities included, has made the service available to customers in 28 cities across the US. The company plans to eventually rollout the service throughout the length and breadth of the country by the end of this calendar year. The Direct 2 You service, as the name suggests, is a personalized customer service program, which entitles a Sprint customer to get a company representative to deliver a new smartphone to their home, set it up and help personalize the device according to their choice. In April itself, the company had announced it had plans of expanding the service beyond the three cities it had started out with, and now it looks as though it is making good on those promises.

Coming to the service itself, it will be completely free of charge for anyone who chooses to use the service. Which means, both existing Sprint customers as well as those wanting to ditch their current carriers to port over to the company, can apply for the service by simply calling a publicly announced number, or e-mail the company to schedule a meeting with a representative at a location of the customer's choosing. A rep will then arrive as per the scheduled appointment, and will provide all the necessary services including the setting-up of the new device, transfer of contacts and data from the old phone including photos, videos, music, games etc. While the offer might sound interesting enough for a significant number of smartphone users, the proof of the pudding will eventually be in its eating, and will depend on the technical expertise of these so-called Direct 2 You 'experts'.

Announcing the roll out of the service in the new markets, Mr. Kevin Kunkel, region vice president, West, Sprint, said, "Customers enjoy saving time and benefit from the convenience factor of Direct 2 You. Whether you're in LA, Denver or San Francisco, our experts will meet you where you choose - home, office or coffee shop - and streamline the process of getting a new phone". Ms. Karen Paletta, region vice president, Northeast, Sprint, also chipped in, saying, "New York represents the ultimate intersection of culture, technology and business, and New Yorkers deserve expert, innovative service to help them manage their busy lives. Our Direct 2 You experts meet customers where it is convenient for them, bringing them expert attention when and where they need it".
