Beidou is a Chinese company which, amongst other things, manufactures smartphones. The company's 'Little Pepper' series is rather well-known in China, and we've already covered a number of 'Red Pepper' smartphones in the past. Beidou has announced the Red Pepper Note handset back in March, and that thing was extremely affordable considering what it had to offer. For 699 Yuan, this handset packed in a 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM and MediaTek's MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor. Well, it seems like Beidou plans to announce yet another Red Pepper handset, read on.
The company will hold an event tomorrow (June 11) in Shenzen, and announce the Red Pepper 9 handset. The most interesting thing about this handset is the 5,000mAh battery that will reportedly ship with it, and the device is also expected to be really affordable. According to the available info, this handset will feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. MediaTek's MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor will fuel this device, and Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with some additions by Beidou. The Red Pepper 9 will measure 144.8 x 71 x 10.6mm, and will be made out of plastic by the looks of it.
Speaking of the design, if you take a look at the image down below, you'll see how this handset will look like, at least according to leaks. The phone will sport a capacitive button / dot below the display, much like other offerings by Beidou. The LED flash will also be available here, and located below the rear-facing camera sensor. The bezels aren't exactly the thinnest we've seen, but they're not that thick either, especially if you consider the fact that this handset isn't all that big to begin with. The loudspeaker will be located in the middle lower part of the device (on its back), the volume rocker buttons are placed on the right, while the lock / power button is available on the left side of this handset. The rear-facing shooter will protrude a little, as you can see in the provided image. There you have it folks, another affordable mid-ranger is coming, stay tuned.
