OnePlus One was one of the best smartphones of last year, and its successor is right around the corner. OnePlus 2 buzz has been going around for quite some time now, and the company has confirmed that the device will be arriving in the third quarter of this year, which basically means we’ll see it released soon. OnePlus has also confirmed that the device will be fueled by the infamous Snapdragon 810 SoC, and that it will feature Type-C USB port. Speaking of which, we have a new to share with you, read on.
The Type-C USB port has popped up on several devices in the last couple of months, including Apple’s new MacBook, Google’s Chromebook Pixel 2, and Letv’s new Android-powered flagships. OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will sport such a port, and the cable itself popped up online. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice 5 images clearly showing off OnePlus 2’s Type-C USB cable. This might not be so exciting to see, but it’s yet another sign that the device announcement is close.
The OnePlus 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 as we already mentioned, but other than that, the device is expected to ship with 3 or 4GB of RAM, and a 3,000+mAh battery on the inside. The 16 or 20-megapixel camera will quite probably be available on the back of OnePlus’ upcoming flagship, and the device will ship with Android Lollipop pre-installed and OnePlus’ Oxygen OS on top of it. You’ll be able to put Cyanogen’s software on it though, as it was the case thus far. We still don’t know what materials will OnePlus use, but a number of rumors have suggested that the device might include some metal in its build.
There you have it folks, pieces of the puzzle are slowly coming together, and the company is expected to introduce the OnePlus 2 very soon. Either way, stay tuned for more info, we’ll report back as soon as some additional information surfaces. As a side note, a number of rumors have suggested that OnePlus might announce two devices this year, so it is possible that we’ll get a lower-end OnePlus device as well. Take this with a grain of salt though, as we don’t have any proof whatsoever at this point.
