OnePlus One is a very interesting device. OnePlus’ flagship, and only smartphone manufactured by the company thus far, was one of the best handsets of last year. OnePlus One sported high-end specs, really affordable price tag and came with Cyanogen’s software pre-installed on top of Google’s Android offering. You needed an invitation in order to buy it at first, but OnePlus removed that restriction quite recently. That being said, the second iteration of the company’s flagship device will be released in the third quarter this year, which means it might arrive really soon. We’ve seen a number of rumors and teasers when it comes to this device, and in order to take a break from all that, let’s take a look at OnePlus concept smartphone.
Like many other concept devices that we’ve covered in the past, this one was also made by ‘Hege’. If you take a look at the gallery below this article, you’ll see a rather interesting design of ‘the new OnePlus’, or as the designer calls it, OnePlus 11. This concept device is made out of aluminum and stainless steel, and it has really interesting physical buttons. “The idea is that all buttons are embedded into the frame, but also the buttons should not be too sensitive, so you need to do a little more pushing to recall for buttons to work,” said the designer, and added the following: “Now you can have the perfect interaction with a smartphone, all physical buttons are integrated into the side of the frame and you got a totally new look and style of the phone”. The OnePlus 11 is showcased in three sizes, sporting a 4-inch, 4.5-inch and 5-inch displays.
The phone looks really sleek, has very minimal bezel all around (basically only the frame), and I believe we’ll all agree that it looks really good. Unfortunately, this is only a concept design, and something similar to this almost certainly won’t come to live anytime soon. That being said, smartphone OEMs are managing to keep the bezel to a minimum lately, and who knows what comes next, anything is possible.
