Meizu MX5 has been leaking all over the place for quite some time now. We've seen it benchmarked by both Geekbench and GFXBench, not to mention that the device was already certified by TENAA (China's equivalent to the FCC). Meizu will almost certainly unveil their new flagship on June 30th, the company has already sent out invites for the event, and has teased the arrival of the MX5. Speaking of the event, we'll be live to cover it in China, so stay tuned for that.
That being said, another piece of MX5 information has leaked in China. To be more exact, a poster containing information regarding MX5's features has leaked, mentioning the company's 'mCharge' technology. What is mCharge? Well, it seems like it's some sort of fast charging tech which will make it possible to charge up Meizu MX5 up to 25% in 10 minutes of charging, and to 60% in 40 minutes of charging time. This info is quite probably somewhat accurate considering we've seen leaks like this before, and were expecting the MX5 to sport some way of fast charging.
This leak also reveals that the new version of Flyme will bring some design changes, and new functionality of course. Looking at the leaked images, you can also see both the front and back side of the upcoming Meizu MX5. The physical home button is once again confirmed in this leak, and the LED flash will be located below the camera sensor on the back, as it was the case with many other devices Meizu has released.
According to benchmarks and TENAA listing, Meizu MX5 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and various internal storage options. The device will be made out of metal, and it will be powered by MediaTek's MT6795T octa-core processor. The 20-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this thing, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front. Android Lollipop will come pre-installed here, with Meizu's Flyme UI installed on top of it. The 3,150mAh battery was also mentioned, and the handset is said to measure 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm and weight 147 grams.
