Google Discounts The Nexus 6 By $150 For Both Models

If you've yet to pick up a Nexus 6 from Google, right now is probably the best time to do so as Google has just recently, and quietly we might add, discounted the Nexus 6 by $150. This cost savings applies to both size models, so whether you choose to pick up the 32GB or the 64GB model of the device you'll save $150. It also makes no difference what color you choose. For the moment, anyone can go and grab the 32GB model for just $499, and/or the 64GB model for just $549, with the prices normally being $650 and $700.

There is no telling how long this discounted price will be good for, but it's likely Google won't be keeping it up for long and the price could very well shoot back up once they reach a certain number of sales or once they run out of stock on a certain batch of the devices. Why Google has chosen to discount the phone is unknown but customers aren't likely to argue, as who hates savings? If Google were trying to drive the possibility of sign ups for Project Fi, discounting the only device which is compatible with the service would be a great way to do so, and although there is no certainty that this has anything to do with the price discount, it does make sense.

What's more likely though, and it's pretty clear given the stamp on the main page that says "#1 Dad," this is a sale to entice buyers for the upcoming Father's Day holiday, which typically drives sales from many retailers and companies on products which "dad" might like. Word to the wise for all the wives out there, Google knows your husband wants a Nexus 6 if he doesn't already have one, and now seems like the best time to pick one up wouldn't you agree? With the savings on the phone that extra money could be put back into your pocket, or you could pick up a snazzy new Live Case that Google partnered up with Skrillex to create. Whatever the reasons, if you've been considering picking up a Nexus 6 to replace your or someone you know's older device, now might as well be the time to jump in with both feet.
