As many of you know, Micromax is India’s biggest smartphone manufacturer. This India-based company usually releases low and mid-range devices, and does that quite often actually. Their devices are basically adapted to the Indian smartphone market, and they obviously sell really well over there. Micromax has recently introduced the Canvas Silver 5 handset, the thinnest smartphone in Micromax’s ‘Canvas’ series of phones, it measures only 5.1mm. That handset is a solid mid-range offering from Micromax, and its specifications are rather nice as well. That being said, the company is now back with yet another smartphone announcement, read on.
Micromax has unveiled the Canvas Selfie Lens Q345 handset, the affordable mid-range smartphone. This thing features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS panel with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it, and also offers dual-SIM connectivity, like most phones do in India. The Canvas Selfie Lens Q345 also features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which you can expand via microSD card up to 32GB). The unnamed 1.3GHz quad-core SoC powers this handset (quite probably a MediaTek chip), and a 2,800mAh battery is also a part of the package. The 8-megapixel snapper (Largan lens and Sony sensor) is available on the back of this device, and below it you’ll see the LED flash. One the front side of the device you’ll find a 5-megapixel shooter (Largan lens and OV sensor), and we’re looking at a 3G HSPA+ device, no 4G LTE here unfortunately. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with Micromax’s additions on top of it. Another thing worth mentioning, is that this device comes with a Clip-on 0.4X wide-angle lens which can be used on both the phone’s front and rear-facing shooters.
As you can see in the provided images, this device sports on-screen buttons and a rather regular design. The phone is made out of plastic, and it comes in White with Champagne and Moondust Gray color options. The Canvas Selfie Lens Q345 is priced at Rs. 8,299 in India, and it comes with 500MB of free 3G data for 2 months if you pick it up from Vodafone.
