Nubia Z9's 'FiT' Tech Leaks Yet Again, Additional Functions Showcased

The Nubia Z9 has been one of the most talked about handsets lately. Details regarding ZTE's upcoming flagship have been leaking for months now, and the company has also been teasing the handset for weeks. All of those rumors, leaks and teaser will come to an end today, because the company is holding a press event in China starting at 7PM (local time), which translates to 4AM PST. That being said, we have some new info to share with you before this handset actually launches, read on.

We've been talking about Nubia Z9's 'FiT' or 'Fringe Interactive Technology' for quite a few times now, and even a couple of .gif animated images surfaced showing off this tech in action. What is 'FiT'? Well, this tech will essentially allow you to slide your fingers on the Nubia Z9's sides and by doing that activate certain functions on the device itself. You'll be able to open certain apps, activate certain shortcuts and quite probably customize certain gestures to your liking. ZTE will almost certainly open those APIs for developers so might be able to do all sorts of things using this phone's bezels.

Speaking of 'FiT', additional .gif images surfaced showing some new 'FiT' actions. If you take a look at the images down below, you'll see this tech in actions. We've already covered the first two images earlier, but the bottom three are new and show off some new 'FiT' functions. It seems like you'll be able to take a screenshot and lock / unlock the device as well using ZTE's new technology. 'FiT' might seem a bit gimmicky, at least some of you, but it's also quite interesting.

ZTE's upcoming flagship will quite probably sport a 5.15-inch 1080p or QuadHD display along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This handset will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which ships with an Adreno 430 GPU. The 16-megapixel OIS camera will be located on its back, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be available up front. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device with ZTE's Nubia UI 2.8 on top of it. The phone will also sport premium build, no bezel on the sides (except the frame) and you can also expect Dual SIM and 4G LTE connectivity to be a part of this package as well.
