Meizu has been really busy lately, the company has announced earlier today that they’re entering the Indian smartphone market. The company has announced that their M1 Note handset will be available for purchase in India starting May 20, and more devices will quite probably follow soon. This China-based smartphone OEM has also announced that they’ll hold an event in Beijing on June 2nd, and they’ll probably unveil the M2 Note handset at the event, though we’re only guessing. We’ve seen quite a few leaks regarding that handset thus far, and we’re still not sure whether the company will call it that or not. It is possible that Meizu opts for a different name, like Note 2 for example, or something similar, it remains to be seen.
That being said, a new M2 Note-related leak surfaced in China yet again. We’ve already seen the device leak in a couple of renders, and this time around it’s pictured running Android 5.1 Lollipop with Meizu’s Flyme on top of Google’s operating system. The leak is somewhat legit considering the source has been more or less accurate when it comes to Meizu rumors in the past, though we cannot confirm anything at this point, of course. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll notice the MX4 Pro handset in it, and alongside it is the alleged M2 Note / Note 2 handset. You can also see that the handset also sports a physical home button here, which goes hand-in-hand with the previous leaks. It is also possible that Meizu has included a fingerprint scanner in the home button, though we cannot confirm that either. Meizu has teased the launch of the handset earlier, but the image itself wasn’t all that revealing. A number of rumors have suggested that the phone will sport a fingerprint scanner though, so… there you have it, it’s a possibility.
If this leak is accurate, the M2 Note will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed, which is great, of course. The 5.1 Lollipop is the latest iteration of Android OS, which makes Meizu rather quick to adapt its Flyme OS to it. Anyhow, June 2nd is the date Meizu will announce something, and it’s quite probably the handset that has leaked today, so stay tuned for that.
