Meizu is one of those China-based companies which have become rather well-known in the last year or so. This Chinese smartphone manufacturer has released a number of solid devices last year and managed to get attention from consumers all over the world, even though the company doesn't officially do business outside of Asia. Many consumers have purchased Meizu's devices through various resellers which ship outside of Asia, and we're more than interested to see what will Meizu's next step be, especially considering a couple of significant investments this Chinese company has received lately.
Speaking of Meizu's next step, the company will announce their arrival to India today, and they've also teased their upcoming Beijing event which will take place on June 2nd. The company has released a teaser image for this event on the social media platforms and confirmed the date of the event itself. What will they announce? Well, according to a number of rumors and leaks we've seen lately, the M2 Note handset seems like a probable announcement at this point. This does seem a bit odd though because Meizu has announced the M1 Note at the end of 2014, so it seems a bit early for them to announce its successor, but it seems like that will happen. There's always a possibility that the rumors were wrong and Meizu plans to announce something else entirely, but that seems somewhat unlikely. Anyhow, the teaser image isn't all that revealing, as you can see for yourself. The company is trying to say something with the zero between '6' and '2' though, perhaps this means the device will feature a fingerprint scanner? We're only guessing, of course, but it's possible. The M2 Note, unlike the M1 Note, will feature a physical home button below the display, at least according to the latest leaked images of the device.
The M1 Note was one of the best selling Meizu-branded devices ever, and also one of the best budget devices of 2014. The expectations for its successor are rather significant, though we don't have any spec information at this point, you can expect this to be yet another well-specced mid-ranger. Either way, stay tuned, we'll see what happens.
