Huawei Sends out invites to June 2nd event in NYC

Huawei has just started sending out invites to a June 2nd event. This time it's in New York City. Which isn't all that common for Huawei. Typically their only US-based events have been at CES, in Las Vegas. So this could be a pretty big deal, we have heard from Huawei's exec's that this would be a big year for them in the US. We also heard at the Huawei P8 announcement that the P8 would not be heading to the US, but we would get something else this summer. So it looks like we're getting the US equivalent of the Huawei P8 on June 2nd.

Then again, this even is the Tuesday after Google I/O (that's May 28th and 29th). So perhaps, it is a Huawei Nexus? Well likely not this soon, and it'd be a bit surprising to see Huawei do an event for it, as the last three Nexus devices have not had launch events, per-say. It is an interesting time to have a launch event from Huawei though. Between all the early launches and before the fall launches for the holiday season.

The invitation from Huawei says "See what's new from Huawei and learn more about the company's US strategy". Whatever Huawei has to announce or show off, we'll be there to see exactly what it is. So you'll want to keep it locked to Android Headlines for all the details on June 2nd.

Huawei makes some pretty spectacular devices. We've been lucky enough to review the Ascend Mate, Ascend Mate 2 and Ascend Mate 7, as well as the new Huawei P8, and a few of their other devices. So it's exciting to see what Huawei has planned for the US. Typically they make devices for T-Mobile, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. They are what we call "white-label" devices. They are built by Huawei but their name is know where on the device. Like with the T-Mobile myTouch T 4G, built by Huawei, but pretty much no one knew that. So hopefully we see some of their bigger name devices make their way here. We'll find out in a few short weeks though!
