Google Partners With Skrillex To Release Smart Cases

Google has just announced an unusual partnership that will make phone cases a little smarter. The Internet giant just made public a new line of cases developed in collaboration with DJ and producer, Sonny Moore, better known as Skrillex. This announcement came out of nowhere and surprised both tech enthusiasts and music lovers alike, why would an internet-based corporation partner up with one of the most popular DJs around the world? Well, both Google and Skrillex have something in common, and that is creativity and the will to innovate. Google and Skrillex came up with a new concept for smartphone cases, the new line of cases will offer NFC implementation to connect with the device (currently limited to the Nexus 6), and deliver a plethora of exclusive content.

Sonny Moore (Skrillex), talked with Google for some time about a partnership to make smartphone cases "fun" again; Google reciprocated, and together with the DJ, a new line of smart cases was born. "I really like the really crazy phone cases that are out right now. You see the girl's case that looks like a Starbucks cup, or the Moschino Jeremy Scott french fries. I think that's really fun", Skrillex stated in an interview. Google and Skrillex created about 20 designs to please both the Android community and the many Skrillex followers; the cases feature a retro-futuristic look that is close to the intense and loud music that Sonny Moore produces.

The Google-Skrillex cases have some great features, but the main characteristic is the ever-changing live wallpaper that comes included with each case. The live wallpaper is made up of numerous photographs taken by 13 different satellites launched by Skrillex and Google themselves. Each of the satellites was spinning around earth's stratosphere for about five hours. The images shown in the live wallpaper change depending on both your location and time of day; at night for example, the image changes to a constellation map that shows the stars above you. Another feature worth mentioning, is the button behind every uniquely numbered case, which can launch any app or website you program to it. Skrillex also stated that everyone with the case will be able to receive exclusive content directly from Moore himself. A new compilation album is on the verge of being released by Skrillex, and it will surely be sent first to case owners.
