First QiKU Smartphone Leaks, Curved Screen In Tow

China is home to many smartphone manufacturers, you know a lot of them, but there are some that are not as well known to the people outside of Asia. Coolpad quite probably belongs in that category, even though the company has been shipping their devices to various markets all around the world. Anyhow, Coolpad has joined forces with Qihoo 360 quite recently and created a company called QiKU, which will enter the Chinese smartphone market really soon. We haven't heard much about the plans of this company, well, until now.

Two renders leaked allegedly showing off the first QiKU-branded smartphone. As you can see in the provided images, this handset seems a bit odd compared to today's smartphones. It sports a rather odd rounded shape above and below the display, and its display is curved it seems. Looking at the back of this device, the first thing you'll notice is a rather big logo below the camera sensor, which we presume is a new QiKU logo. The design on the back of the device also interesting, it has two curves in both upper and lower portion of the device. There seems to be no LED flash included on the back though, at least it looks like it. The device sports a bright red color, well, at least this variant of the device does.

The source didn't share any information regarding the specs of this new handset, unfortunately. We cannot confirm that this is actually the first QiKU device, of course, this is just a rumor, but let's presume it is. If this leak is legit, then this handset doesn't have an LED flash on the back, which might suggest we're talking about an entry-level handset which will sport a really competitive price. Another thing worth mentioning here, is that this handset sports three capacitive buttons below the display: back, home and menu, respectively. There you have it folks, the first QiKU handset is expected to launch in the coming weeks, even though the company did not release any info regarding its release date. We'll let you know when we get more information, stay tuned.
