YAHTZEE With Buddies Reaches More Than 1 Million Downloads In The First Four Days

Yahtzee is a game that has been around for longer than mobile games existed, yet it seems to be as popular as ever even having transformed into a digital state. Only four days ago Scopely and Hasbro together launched Yahtzee with Buddies onto Android and mobile phones, and in just four days the game has reached over a massive 1 million downloads with players having taken more than 50 million turns in the first five days. Just to put in perspective how many downloads that is especially in such a short amount of time, there are games that have been out for more than a year that have only a fraction of that download and and install base.

Yahtzee with Buddies success has led them to reach the number one ranking on the Google Play Store free games list, a feat not easily achieved by very many games. In addition to reaching a monumental download number in less than a work week, Yahtzee with Buddies is also seeing as many as ten thousand downloads an hour, according to Scopely's Chief Operating Officer Javier Ferreria. For those who may have grown up playing YAHTZEE, they should find that everything has been painstakingly recreated to look and feel as much like the original game as possible, with a modern mobile interface to grab the attention of both long-time seasoned players of YAHTZEE and newcomers who are just getting to experience the game.

YAHTZEE with Buddies allows users to play the game on their own in single player matches to get a feel for everything, and once they're ready they can branch out and play with family members or friends for some multiplayer fun, no matter where they are. YAHTZEE with Buddies is also holding both daily and weekly tournaments with player rewards and even more of a challenge than other play modes. YAHTZEE with Buddies even lets you personalize your games with custom dice if you like you to add a personal touch. Hasbro and Scopely have also made it possible for those who play YAHTZEE with Buddies to play matches with people who play Scopely's other dice game called Dice with Buddies, which makes the game a little more versatile and allows users to avoid trying to convince friends or family members to switch games.
