Yahoo To Launch A New Messaging App That Combines Live And Recorded Video

Yahoo is getting closer to unveiling a brand new product later this quarter, a new messaging app which combines live and recorded video and text, elements which are found in other apps. This new application comes as a surprise as the company hasn't released any major product over the past 32 months. Yahoo is mostly known for their already existing products and not for introducing new ones. The company's CEO, Marissa Mayer, seems to be making some big changes to the way Yahoo operates and this new messaging application will surely show the path Yahoo is heading to.

Several apps have made their way into the Play Store, like the popular and acclaimed Yahoo Aviate Launcher or Yahoo News, but no application has been developed from scratch under Yahoo's CEO, Marissa Mayer. In the tech world, companies must find a way to innovate and keep the users engaged with their products. Yahoo has been under the radar for a while now, not really introducing any new, so this new app may be the one to bring Yahoo back into the spotlight.

Sometime later in this quarter, Yahoo will unveil a new mobile application (at the time the new product's name is still unknown). But the company has released some information about their upcoming app, which will reportedly be yet another addition to the vast amount of messaging apps out there. Marissa Mayer might have acknowledged this and added a twist to the already known messaging applications. The main feature of this new upcoming app will be a mixture between other apps like Skype, Snapchat, Meerkat; This means that Yahoo's upcoming app will blend live and recorded video together along with text. At first the concept might seem confusing, but Yahoo seems to be pretty confident about it and with Marissa Mayer, who has been called a "product" CEO, great things are to be expected.

Yahoo seems to be stuck in a place where most tech companies don't want to be, its users are so used to the already released products that anything new will go mostly unnoticed unless it's something really worth adopting. Marissa Mayer has been said to be one of the greatest CEOs of this time even if the app is not as successful as their main products, it might get more than just a few users.
