China’s number one smartphone OEM, Xiaomi, has announced number of devices this year. The company has unveiled quite a few smartphones and smart gadgets in the last couple of months, and it seems like the intend to launch another one in three days. It was revealed a while back that Xiaomi will announce something on April 23rd, and the company has been teasing the content of this launch via their official Twitter account. Let’s try to figure out what will the company announce, shall we.
Xiaomi has released several rather cryptic teasers via Twitter recently, and it seems like they’re trying to mock Apple by doing so. If you take a look at the gallery below this article, you’ll notice three teaser images. All three of these images have “i DISAGREES” caption written on them as a response to rhetorical questions that have been asked in each of these images. The first teaser seems to hint that the upcoming device will look similar to a previous model, but won’t be the same despite that. The second image hints at a bigger battery in a rather compact body, and the third one seems to hint that this device will sport premium build quality.
So, what will Xiaomi announce in three days? Well, Xiaomi will either announce the frequently rumored Redmi Note 2 handset, or the recently leaked Mi 4i aka ‘Ferrari’ handset. The latter one is more probable though considering the event will be held in India, and recent rumors have claimed that the aforementioned Mi 4i handset will launch in India first. This handset has actually leaked the other day showing off its thin bezels, and we’ve seen its specifications listed on GFXBench a while back.
According to the available info, the Xiaomi Mi 4i will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.6GHz is said to power on this handset along with an Adreno 405 GPU. The 13-megapixel shooter will allegedly be located on the back of this handset, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be available on its front side. Android 5.0.2 will come pre-installed on this device with Xiaomi’s MIUI OS on top of it.
