Xiaomi has been announcing devices like crazy this year. The company has announced a slew of smartphones and other smart gadgets thus far, and are expected to announce quite a few more in the coming months. This China-based company has already teased yet another device to come on April 15th, and they've also managed to sell 2.1 million devices in a single day recently, as part of the company's Mi Fan Festival. Xiaomi actually managed to set a new Guinness World Record by selling that many devices in only 24 hours.
The company has actually teased the arrival of a new device for April 23rd as well quite recently, 'i Is coming' was the official caption of the teaser image they released. We guessed that this might be a follow-up to the company's Mi 4 device, and now we have some additional info regarding all that. It seems like this will be a new variant of the Mi 4 handset which will launch in India. This device was spotted on the Singapore's IDA database and also on GeekBench. The handset will be named Xiaomi Mi 4i, and it seems like this is the lower-end version of the company's 2014 flagship, the Mi 4.
According to the available information, the Xiaomi Mi 4i will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 SoC, a 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.6Ghz. The device will also ship with 2GB of RAM and Android 5.0.2 will come pre-installed here. We don't have more information regarding its specifications now, but it seems like this will be a rather solid mid-range device. We don't know how much will it cost either at the moment, but it should be priced around (or even under) 1,500 Yuan ($241).
Xiaomi still has quite a few devices to release this year. We thought the company will slow down after a ton of initial releases, but it seems like that won't be the case. Other than devices releases, Xiaomi is also planning to expand to other areas, and they'll even open up shop in India by the end of the year (Q3 or Q4).
