Xiaomi has unveiled their new handset in India, the much leaked Mi 4i mid-ranger. This handset is basically a lower-end version of the company's 2014 flagship, the Mi 4. The two handset looks very similar, though they're significantly different. The Mi 4i, unlike the Mi 4, sports a colorful polycarbonate unibody build, much like Apple's iPhone 5C and several Meizu offerings which have been launched in the last couple of months. The Mi 4i is more than a solid mid-range device and considering the Rs. 12,999 ($205) price tag, it might attract a lot of customers.
We've already covered the initial launch of this device and its specifications separately, and are here to take a closer look at its design. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you'll notice a ton of Mi 4i images. Taking a look at those images you'll notice that both the power / lock button as well as volume rocker buttons are located on the right side of this handset. The SIM card slots are located on its left side and you'll find a 3.5mm audio jack up top. The micro USB charging port is located on the bottom along with an another microphone. The 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device and flanked by a dual-LED, dual tone flash. Xiaomi's logo and the loud speaker are also placed on the back of the Mi 4i. You can also see Xiaomi's MIUI 6 in action in some of these images, along with some Google apps running.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes sporting a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and it supports 4G LTE connectivity. The 13-megapixel camera is available on its back, while there's a 5-megapixel snapper located on its front side. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with Xiaomi's MIUI 6 OS located on top of it. The Mi 4i will be available in Black, White, Cyan, Red and Pink color options.
There you have it folks, this is Xiaomi's new mid-ranger. It will be available for purchase in India starting April 30th for Rs. 12,999 ($205). The device will be available through Snapdeal, Amazon, Flipkart, Airtel and Mobile Store in India. Starting May, consumers in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore will also be able to purchase it.
