Xiaomi Launches A Leather Strap For The Mi Band Activity Tracker

wearables are great pieces of technology for various reasons, from tracking steps, to tracking sleep patterns and serving as alarms for waking up on time, with subtle yet effective vibrations on your wrist. Plenty of today's more recognizable tech companies and mobile device manufacturers have a wearable of some kind available, whether it be a smart watch or a fitness tracker, and this includes China's biggest smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, who earlier last year revealed the Mi Band wearable which you can check our review of here. Like many other fitness and activity trackers out there the actual hardware is  a small piece of tech that can be popped in and out of multiple strap options to suit the personal tastes of the user, although up until now those who opted for the Mi Band as their wearable of  choice were left only with different colored options of silicone bands.

Today Xiaomi has announced that they'll be offering a little more of a professional and fashion forward approach for those who want it, with a leather strap option for the Mi Band. Not only is the strap itself made out of leather, it comes with a traditional watch style clasp and an alloy casing to house the Mi Band unit so it looks more fitting for anyone who might be wearing this to work every day, or for those who just like leather straps better.

The new leather band is currently available from online retailers like ibuygou.com, although interested customers should be willing to spend more than $40 on the strap as it currently sits at $43.99 on that particular site. This is more than the Mi Band itself, which currently sits at a cost of around $22 on Amazon. Throwing these two together you're looking at spending a little over $85 for the combination, which isn't that bad if you consider that most other activity and fitness trackers are about the same cost. If you currently own a Mi Band and were looking for something a little more non-sporty, this leather strap should fit the bill, unfortunately it only seems to be available in the one color, a light brown which may not be what some users are looking for.
