Sony's Google Cast Ready Soundbars, Speakers, And Receivers Get Pricing And Release Dates

Sony has announced a couple new product offerings coming in the future, most notably their upcoming Xperia Z4 handset which is expected to launch sometime in May with a possible Japan-only launch. They also recently announced the pricing and the release dates for their upcoming 4K televisions that are all powered by Android TV. These TV's have the Android TV platform baked right in so there's no need to buy an extra piece of equipment to get the experience, perfect for anyone who hates clutter and wants to minimize the amount of electronics in their living room to only the absolutely essential equipment.

As of today, Sony has announced that they will be releasing a series of Google Cast ready speakers, soundbars, and receivers that will have the Google Cast technology built in and that they will be coming to market later on in 2015. Sony's series of speakers are due to release in the near future, and for those wondering the dates range from May to July. The speakers and the receivers are set to launch in May, while the soundbars are scheduled to launch in July according to Sony's blog post.

A quick Google search for the speakers leads to a link for Sony's official online store, which has merely a button to click offering consumers the ability to be notified when the products are available, yet no actual release date. This may seem odd as they have already announced the availability details on their blog, but it's likely that they just haven't gotten around to updating the online store's webpages yet. It appears to be the same for all the products announced today as the official Sony site lists no actual release dates for any of the Google Cast products. When it comes to pricing, the Soundbars start at $699 for the HT-NT3 model, and jump to $1499 for the HT-ST9 model. As for the receivers, the STR-DN860 is listed at $499, while it appears the higher-end STR-D1060 model will be $599. Lastly, Sony will be releasing two Google Cast ready speakers, which will start at $349 for the HT-CT380 model, and bumping up to $449 for the HT-CT780 model.
