One of the newer features in the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge - that actually appeared in the Galaxy A Series smartphones last year - are themes. Right now there are a few themes available for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. But not a whole lot. And none of them are particularly exciting, really. Samsung is actually looking for designers now, to help them make some more themes for their store. Samsung's new website is asking for developers from around the world to reach out to them to create more themes for their smartphones. You can send your portfolio and ideas to Samsung, as well as a short introduction to the email listed on the site. If you're interested in creating themes for Samsung devices, you'll want to hit them up at the source link down below.
It appears that the big feature this year is themes. HTC introduced a new theme store with the HTC One M9 as well, which I really liked. Their theme store is really flexible though. You can use different elements to create your own theme. Which includes the wallpaper, font, icons and much more. You can also auto-create a theme from your wallpaper, which is a really neat feature. For Samsung, it looks like they are wanting to create more professional themes to use on their Galaxy devices, as they are looking at designers. But hey, being able to theme your device without downloading a new launcher, or icon packs or any of that is going to be a big deal. Because it makes theming the device much easier to do. Especially for those that might be new to Android.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is projected to sell about 10 million in the first 26 days that it's available. So if you want your work to be seen by a lot of people, then it's a good idea to reach out to Samsung. The only smartphone that's likely to sell more is the next iPhone. So it's a pretty big deal. And if you're an aspiring designer, this is a huge opportunity for you.
