Monoprice Launches Multiple USB Type C Cables And Accessories Starting At $9.99

USB Type-C devices are still extremely new, and if you're unfamiliar with USB Type-C is then just as a recap, it's a new USB standard which aims to bring tons of convenience and more functionality to something as simple as the USB cable. The way it is designed allows you to plug it in when flipped to either side of the cable meaning both sides are right side up. With a normal USB Type A cable that you may have now for numerous devices around the home, the cable can only be plugged in one way. USB Type-C does away with this, but also adds in other functionality and is capable of handling all your ports in a single connection. Meaning it can handle the power and charging capability for the device, the connection for data just like standard USB Type A cables you may be used to now, and it can handle the display operations that normally an HDMI port would take care of.

There are little number of devices that already support this standard, but more will be coming out as the year continues and Google has already hopped on the new standard with their second model Chromebook Pixel, which is already available starting at $999 from the Google Store. If you're someone that is eyeing a device like the Chromebook Pixel or another product that is scheduled to support the USB Type C standard and you want to be prepared and equipped with all the USB Type C cables and accessories you could ever need, Monoprice seems to have you covered.

They currently have multiple USB Type C cables for the USB 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1 standards and as well as adapters for plugging in devices that use the regular USB Type A connection to a device that only supports the new USB Type C ports. The cables and adapters range from $9.99 all the way up to $34.99 although not all the accessories are available just yet, with some listed as "coming soon" but with an expected arrival time to be in stock by April 24th according to their listing page for those particular accessories.
