Huawei's P8 to be Part of Huawei VIP, Same-Day Device Replacement Program

Device replacement, especially of a brand new device, is one of the biggest pains and problems with buying a new smartphone.  Some manufacturers make you go through the device's warranty and pay a little if it's not covered once they check it out.  Huawei, however, is taking the fight to you, with a new program called 'Huawei VIP'. The Huawei P8, which was unveiled yesterday by the Chinese company, features a still-stunning 1080p IPS LCD panel, sized at 5.3 inches.  It's also got a four-color 13-megapixel back camera for better-lit and more stable, with OIS, as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.  3GB of RAM and a Kirin 930 processor make this no slouch of a device, and 16GB of internal storage will be sufficient for most users interested in the stylish device.

The program will reportedly allow for UK customers that purchase a P8, as well as the P8 Lite, which was also announced yesterday.  The program will, in effect, have a customer buy the device, choose to sign up for the program (with a £100 deposit in the case that the necessary repair isn't under the device's warranty), and when a fault or issue crops up, call a specified number.  Once on-call with the VIP service number, the problem will be diagnosed by the customer and Huawei service representative, and, if it is indeed eligible, the device can be sent in under the VIP plan. Once packaged to be sent in under warranty, a same-day (or next-day if you missed the mailman or cut-off time) replacement device will be sent once Huawei receives the handset.  For convenience, this sounds pretty great, especially if you have a problem that makes itself known, right when you try to turn the phone on for the first time.

Things to note, Huawei is only going to activating this service for customers in the UK, sorry global folks, and that the service might also expand, as time goes by, to non-flagship handsets purchased in the UK.  With Huawei's latest move to help satisfy customer needs, especially outside of the store, it is good to see them focusing on after sales, as well as sales.
