Huawei P8Max Gets Unboxed And Compared To Its Smaller Sibling, The Huawei P8

After months and months of leaks and teasers, Huawei has announced the company's new flagship, the Huawei P8. The company actually announced a whole new line of P8 devices, the Huawei P8, P8 Lite and P8Max handsets. The P8 Lite has also been leaking like crazy lately, but the P8Max is definitely a surprise. This is a 6.8-inch phablet which very few people expected to make an appearance at the launch event in London yesterday. All three of these devices sport premium build and will definitely turn some eyes thanks to those thin side bezels and sleek design in general.

We've covered the launches of each of these devices separately, so check those out if you're interested. We're here to take a closer look at the Huawei P8Max, a gigantic phablet. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you'll notice a bunch of images showcasing Huawei's new phablet both alone and compared to the Huawei P8. You'll also notice how huge it is when held in hand, which is not surprising at all, as already mentioned, this is a really big device and is definitely not for everyone. That being said, let's take a look at its specifications.

The Huawei P8Max features a 6.8-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 64GB). Keep in mind that this is a dual-SIM handset, and based on the currently available information, one of those slots actually doubles as a microSD card slot, so you won't be able to sport 2 SIM cards and a microSD card. This handset is powered by Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core processor along with a Mali-T628 GPU. The 13-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of this handset and flanked by a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 5-megapixel snapper is available up front, and a non-removable 4,360mAh battery is also part of the package here. The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with Huawei's Emotion UI on top of it. The Huawei P8Max measures 187.2 x 93 x 6.8mm and weighs 228 grams.

This handset will be available next month in 16 and 64GB variants. The 16GB model will be priced at €549 ($584) and available in Titanium Grey and Mystic Champagne color options. The 64GB variant will set you back €649 ($691) and will come in Carbon Black and Prestige Gold color options.
