We’re going through the cases we have here for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and reviewing them one by one. Next up is Speck’s Candy Shell case for the Galaxy S6 Edge. We have it in gray and green, pictures of both are down below. It’s a pretty simple case, it’s a hard shell case that covers up and protects your Galaxy S6 Edge. It does have a lip on all the sides of the device to protect it when it gets dropped. While it does have a slight lip on the sides, you are still able to use the edge of the display, and you also have it protected, which is a win/win for most people.
Speck has cut outs on the bottom for the speaker, micro USB port and the 3.5mm headphone jack. So you can still use your phone to its full potential. There’s also holes up top for the microphone hole and the IR blaster. On the back we have one for the camera and flash module. There’s no cut out for the Power and Volume rockers, however they are pronounced and textured, making them easy to press when needed. It won’t fully protect your Galaxy S6 Edge, but it’ll definitely be better than not having a case on it.
It actually feels pretty good in hand, and it’s easy to hold onto, of course the grip on the sides and back definitely help with that. For those wondering, it does work with Qi wireless chargers. I tried it on two chargers I have here, and no issues. It actually worked better than not having a case. Because the Galaxy S6 Edge has a glass back, it slides around on the charging pad quite a bit. With the case on it, it doesn’t slide around at all, which is a good thing.
Speck has their Candy Shell cases available in four colors. The charcoal gray and dragon green we have here, as well as Lipstick Pink and White/Black. All of them look pretty nice, except maybe the lipstick pink version, because it’s pink and blue. They are all available on Amazon.
