Another 'Bezel-Free' Device Leaks, PPTV Planning To Release A Smartphone?

Letv's is first and foremost a video streaming company. That being said, they've recently released three very compelling devices in China, Letv One, One Pro and Letv Max. Letv's smartphone offerings have been leaking like crazy for weeks prior to launch, and the company really managed to release a line of really solid flagship devices, we'll see how will they fare out in the market. It seems like another China-based video streaming company plans to release a smartphone in the near future though.

The company in question here is PPTV, another China-based video company. A couple of renders leaked showing off the alleged PPTV-branded smartphone which looks really sleek. This handset actually looks like a concept device from the front, but it seems it's the real thing. Anyhow, the device will be made from metal and will sport a unibody frame. This handset will also sport dual speakers and will be available in three colors according to the available info. Looking at one of the images, you can also see there's a dual-LED, dual tone flash located underneath the camera sensors on the back of this device.

We don't have any information regarding the specifications of this device at the moment, but the handset does really look sleek, especially if you look at it front the front. This handset doesn't seem to have any bezel on the sides and the bezels on the top and bottom of the device are also more than bearable. There seems to be some sort of a capacitive button below the display, this is presumably either the home button or just a logo.

If PPTV enters the smartphone game and announces this device in the end, they'll have a really tough job fighting off other OEMs. The smartphone market is saturated with all kinds of smartphones and it will be tough for the company to make a name for themselves. It will be interesting to see if both Letv and PPTV can make it in China though, Letv's devices are really sleek and judging by these renders, PPTV intends to up the ante even more. As a side note, ZTE will launch their bezel-less flagship really soon as well.
