Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 Goes on Early Pre-Sale for $199 - Through April 20th

While Alcatel OneTouch is opening up pre-orders for their newly announced Idol 3 on April 21st, they are starting pre-sales right now, at an exclusive price of just $199. The sale runs now through 11:59pm PDT on April 20th. Once it's over, the standard pre-orders begin, at the regular pre-order price of $249.99. Now if you order an Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 now, it won't arrive sooner, it'll still arrive in mid-May. The original price of the Idol 3 is actually $279, making this a great deal. Also worth mentioning that this is their 5.5-inch model, and not the smaller 4.7-inch model.

We got a chance to spend some time with Alcatel OneTouch in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress, and got to know everything about the OneTouch Idol 3. It's a fantastic smartphone. The Idol 3 is available in both 5.5 and 4.7 inch models, and the specs are pretty much identical. We're looking at a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 resolution IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage - with a microSD card slot. We also have a 13MP camera around back and a 8MP camera on the front. Alcatel OneTouch made a pretty big deal about the camera, so we'll have to check that out in our review and see if it lives up to the hype. All of this is powered by a 2910mAh battery inside. Alcatel OneTouch also teamed up with JBL on the Idol 3, and brought us dual-front facing speakers powered by JBL. To top it all off, it's running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, with a pretty light skin on top.

You can get the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 from Amazon for just $199. Which is one hell of a deal. It'll work on T-Mobile, and AT&T here in the US. As well as any MVNO that runs on AT&T and T-Mobile's network. That includes Straight Talk, Simple Mobile and others. Just pop in the SIM and you're ready to go. No word on when the 4.7-inch model of the Idol 3 will be available, but it shouldn't be long after the 5.5-inch model is available in mid-May. If you're looking for a decent smartphone, and at a decent price, then look no further than the Idol 3.
