Sony announced their newest smartphone just early yesterday morning, the Xperia M4 Aqua. The Xperia M4 Aqua is Sony's answer to refocusing some of their mid-range efforts to present a completely new handset that attempts to redefine what it means to be mid-range, and based off of the specs consumers will likely be happy with what Sony has brought to the table. There is no word on whether or not Sony has plans to release the Xperia M4 Aqua in the U.S. although some might speculate that it isn't likely. Most of Sony's devices never make it to the states, so this would be a fair assumption. The device will be available in the UK though and will be coming to Canada, and of course in a handful of different regions in Europe, Germany being one of these countries.
German citizens are also now capable of pre-ordering the Xperia M4 Aqua on Amazon.de, and the phone will end up costing buyers a total of €279, although on Amazon only the white and black color options are available. This leaves out the two others color variants, coral and silver, which consumers may have to wait until the device can be pre-ordered from Sony's own website in the region before the coral and silver models can be purchased. Sony's official pricing for the handset is also €299, so for consumers who don't mind grabbing up one of the standard colors we have come to expect from Sony mobile devices, a slight money savings will be in order.
The pre-orders while being live do not have a listed date of when to expect the phones to release, so consumers that place their pre-orders as of now will have be to comfortable with letting go of the cost amount without knowing exactly when they'll get the phone in hand. The Xperia M4 Aqua is featuring Sony's signature IP68 waterproof and dust tight seal, a 13MP rear facing camera, a 5-inch display with 720p resolution, and it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdrragon 615 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM. As for what drives this device, there's a 2,400mAh battery inside that boasts 2 days of battery life for the phone just like with Sony's Xperia Z3 flagship launched in late 2014.
