Now we’re seeing the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge popping up over on Amazon as well for AT&T and Sprint. Verizon’s are not available just yet, so we’re looking at just Sprint and AT&T. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge started pre-orders last week here in the US. On AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile. Samsung is offering both flagships in the 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB configurations as well as in the black, white and gold colors. Unfortunately the green and blue colors are not making their way across the Atlantic Ocean to the US.
Just last week, Best Buy started their pre-orders as well as making the devices available in their Samsung Experience center at all of their stores. So customers can come in and take a look at the device before deciding on pre-ordering the device. This year, Samsung has decided to drop the 16GB model and go to 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models. And surprisingly, carriers are carrying all three, as well as retailers. Typically you’d only see the entry model available here in the US. Although the lack of a microSD card slot probably helped make that happen.
While we’re talking about the microSD card slot, there’s also no removable battery this year. However, Samsung has decided to stick with a 5.1-inch display, but it is a QHD display. With a gorgeous 2560×1440 resolution display. Including their own Exynos 7420 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, and a 16MP camera that’s taking some pretty fantastic shots. Samsung also stuck a 5-megapixel shooter on the front of the device.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are going to be available in store beginning April 10th. Amazon will be shipping out pre-orders prior to that date. So those that pre-order should be getting their device on April 10th, or possibly the day before that. We’re just under 2 weeks from general availability of the Samsung Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 Edge.
