Back in 2012 Marvel and Disney released the Avengers, a massive hit for the pair of them and a movie that propelled superheroes into the mainstream. Since then, anticipation surrounding the sequel, Age of Ultron, has reached fever pitch, with leaked trailers and more. Samsung recently scored a partnership with Marvel, and offer limited edition Gear VR headsets with Marvel characters all over them. Now though, it looks like comic book fans and tech lovers could have something very special to look forward to as it looks like Samsung is working on limited editions of the Galaxy S6 Edge modelled after members of the Avengers.
The photos have surfaced out of South Korea, and the whole thing is billed as something Samsung is "considering" and that nothing is final. We have a slew of photos in the gallery below, but the devices themselves will be put together with color schemes and characteristics from their corresponding Avenger. These include; the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Hawk Eye. For instance, the Thor version of the Galaxy S6 Edge would use an electric-blue color scheme and a matching clear view case. Meanwhile, Hulk's Galaxy S6 Edge would be green and mean. Each of them appear to have customized software as well, as you'll see in the GIF files included. Iron Man's Galaxy S6 Edge features an Arc Reactor pulsing on the lockscreen for instance. This would be a huge score for Samsung, as a big movie franchise like this would make the Galaxy S6 Edge even easier to sell to everyday consumers than ever before.
There's no word on whether or not these are final designs and if they are whether they'll ever leave Asia, as they're billed as South Korean exclusives at this point. Considering how popular the Avengers has proven to be in North America and even Europe, we would be surprised if Samsung kept these devices to their home market. There are lots of images for you to ogle at down below, and let us know your favorites in the comments below. Personally, I'm a fan of Hulk's shiny green version.
