LG Has An Intended Demographic In Mind For The LG G Flex 2

Back in 2013 LG launched a device called the LG G Flex, with its drastically curved display a certain group of people fell in love with the device. But it was hard to pin down that demographic based on the fact that there really was no demographic. What is meant by this, is that those who were interested in the device weren’t really the same, for example, they weren’t largely teens or largely business folks.

Because of the demographic issue that LG had with the first G Flex, the device did not sell all that well. This time around the company does not want to make that same mistake again with the successor to the G Flex, the G Flex 2. As a matter of fact, LG seems to have an intended demographic for the G Flex 2 in mind. Said demographic, according to the CEO and president of LG Taiwan, is business users between the ages of 30-45 years old. Jee Hyung Lee also says that he expects to sell 20,000 LG G Flex’s in Taiwan this year, which would be an amazing feat considering that the G Flex only sold about 6500 units last year there.

For those of you who aren’t aware of the specs of the G Flex 2, here they are. The device features a 5.5-inch curved HD OLED display, self-healing back, Snapdragon 810 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-MP camera. As you can see, the G Flex 2 is definitely not lacking on the hardware side of things. So LG is not completely insane for trying to sell so many more of these phones than last year.

The amount of G Flex 2 units that will sell in Taiwan is not the only thing that Jee is optimistic about. He also predicts that LG’s smartphone revenue will rise about 30 percent from last year, which was about $120 million. These are all pretty high expectations that LG seems to have set for G Flex 2 sales and LG smartphones, in general. If LG is able to meet all of these sales and revenue goals it would be a very good for the company. And with the G4 still up the companies sleeve, they have a very good chance of doing just that.
