Much like Micromax, Karbonn is one of the largest Indian smartphone OEMs. This company is very popular in India, they mostly release low and mid-range handsets. The last device the unveiled was the Titanium Mach One, which was introduced back in January. Karbonn is now back with yet another mid-ranger, the Platinum P9. Anyhow, let's check out what this huge device has to offer, shall we.
The Karbonn Platinum P9 is a mid-range phablet by the company, it is at the same time the first device in the company's new "Platinum" series. Anyhow, the Platinum P9 features a 6-inch qHD (960 x 540) IPS laminated display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top of it. This device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (most probably a MediaTek chip), 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 32GB). This device features an 8-megapixel camera on both its front and back, the rear-facing sensor is flanked by an LED flash. This is a dual SIM device and it ships with a 2,500mAh battery on the inside. As far as connectivity goes, this handset supports 3G, Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth (with A2DP) and GPS. As you can see, the Karbonn Platinum P9 doesn't offer 4G LTE connectivity, though that was to be expected here, this is a budget mid-ranger.
This device is already available for purchase in India for Rs, 8,899 ($143), and it comes in Black color only. This is a solid mid-range phablet from Karbonn, and if you're in a market for such a huge device and live in India, this might be something you'd want to consider. The competition in Indian market is fierce, so we'd love to hear your opinion when it comes to these huge phablets. What is, in your opinion, the best phablet device currently on sale in India (in general)? On the other hand, what is the best phablet device made by an India company at the moment? Let us know what you think in the comments, we'd love to hear from you, as usual.
